We aim to provide the newest advances in psychiatric care. We use pharmacogenomics, the science of how a person’s genes may affect their response to medicine. A simple cheek swab can help inform medication decisions, so that we can determine which medications may be the best or worst for you personally.
We each have a genetic profile unlike anyone else, each person’s genetic profile has enzymes called “CYP450s”, and there are six of these CYP 450 enzymes that metabolize up to 90% of all drugs.
Each one of us has a different rate of how we metabolize drugs based on our individual genes and enzymes. Using pharmacogenetic testing, we will discover if your body processes some medications too fast or too slow, which could both be problematic if unadjusted.
